Volunteers of America North Alabama, Inc. provides a wide range of Residential Services for those individuals who are Seriously Mentally Ill.
Residential programs attempt to meet the needs of the individual by providing traditional "group home" placements to Crisis Residential to long-term semi-independent living.
Our goal is to provide a stable living environment and comprehensive training to ensure stability in the community.
We offer residential care home placement, more traditionally known as "group home" placement, for individuals who need structure and support to live outside a more structured environment.
We offer semi-independent placement for individuals who need less structure but require support from caring staff while in the community.
Crisis Residential services are provided for those individuals who may be struggling with a medication change, symptoms, or need extra support while transitioning through a difficult stage in their life. These services can be accessed through the local Mental Health Center.
All three services attempt to help the individual maintain their level of independence and to function in the least restrictive environment possible.
