Donating Your Vehicle Just Makes Sense.

By donating your car, truck, boat, or RV to Volunteers of America Vehicle Donation Program:

You’ll be spared the ordeal of selling your vehicle.

You’ll make a valuable contribution to help people in need in your community.

Donating Is As Easy As . . .

1.    Call Volunteers of America North Alabama, Inc. at 256-830-1146 or toll-free at 1-888-900-2886 or fill out the online Donation Form and someone will contact you to complete the donation process.

2.  On the certificate of title, print Volunteers of America on the line indicating “purchaser,” “buyer” or “transferee.” 

3.  Sign the vehicle’s Certificate of title on the line marked “signature of seller.”

4.  If the title shows a lien, original documentation clearing the lien must be provided.

5.  Upon receipt of the vehicle, keys and clear title, we will issue an initial receipt acknowledging your charitable contribution.

6.  If the vehicle sells for more than $500, we will include the amount on the receipt.  We will need to be provided with your social security number on any vehicle donation whose sales price is more than $500.  This information has to be included on the IRS Form 1098C.

7.  If the vehicle sells for less than $500, we do not need your social security number and we will not include the amount on your receipt.  You are allowed to use the market value up to $500 as the basis for your deduction.
